AMERICAN FLAGS — AMERICAN MADE
The U.S. flag is proudly flown by more people, more often than any other nation’s flag. Outdoor flags are flown by households and businesses alike, so it is important to understand the various materials that outdoor flags are made of so you can choose the right flag for your flying needs.
There are three fabric categories to choose from:
- Durable polyester for all weather, high wind display
- Premium nylon for year-round display
- Polycotton for seasonal display
Fabrics
TOUGH-TEX®
Annin Tough-Tex® is the strongest, most durable all-weather flag. Designed for institutional and commercial flag displays, nothing beats the performance of an Annin Tough-Tex® flag. Made from an exclusive, open-weave 2-ply spun polyester material, this time-tested standard has been America’s best for over 30 years. It is the best material for larger flags, ideal for daily and long-term display. The unique open-weave reduces fabric stress by letting air flow through making it the longest lasting flag available.
NYL-GLO®
Annin Nyl-Glo® flags are made from our exclusive SolarGuard® treated material giving them extended resistance to UV rays. Annin uses a remarkably strong, lightweight nylon weave so the flags wave in the lightest breeze. Nyl-Glo® flag sets are available for indoor and outdoor use. Flags 15′ x 25′ are finished with reinforcing corner patches on the fly hem.
POLYCOTTON
Homeowners, who tend to fly the flag on weekends and flag flying holidays, love the combination of quality and economy they get with a polycotton flag. Annin flags are made of dyed and treated materials to resist fading during normal use. Polycotton flags and banners offer traditional beauty with a slightly stiff hand to showcase the full flag. They have printed stars and stripes.
